Jun 09, 2004 ADI Bushmaster Australia selected the ADI Bushmaster 4 x 4 to meet its operational requirement for an infantry mobility vehicle (IMV) in March 1991, following an international competition. Jun 09, 2004 Alvis OMC RG-32M Alvis OMC has developed the RG-32M as a private venture to meet emerging requirements for a vehicle that can be used for various battlefield roles. Jun 09, 2004 Alvis Vickers Scarab Alvis Vickers developed the Scarab scout vehicle as a private venture and a number of European countries have evaluated the vehicle. Jun 09, 2004 ARGE Fennek The Fennek 4 x 4 reconnaissance vehicle is a further development of the Multi-Purpose Carrier (MPC) originally developed by Dutch company SP aerospace and vehicle systems as a private venture. Jun 09, 2004 ARTEC Boxer Following a competition, the ARTEC (ARmoured TEChnology) consortium was awarded a contract to develop a new 8 x 8 armoured vehicle to meet German and UK requirements. Jun 09, 2004 Arzamas BTR-80A APC The original production BTR-80 8 x 8 armoured personnel carrier (APC) entered service in the mid-1980s and is fitted with a one-person turret armed with a 14.5mm KPVT and a 7.62mm PKVT coaxial machine gun. Jun 09, 2004 Arzamas BTR-90 The Arzamas Machinery Construction Plant is the largest manufacturer of wheeled armoured fighting vehicles in Russia. Jun 09, 2004 Cadillac Gage M1117 Following a competition, Textron Marine & Land Systems secured the contract to provide the US Army Military Police with an armoured security vehicle (ASV). This was subsequently type-classified as the M1117 and is also called the Guardian. Jun 09, 2004 GDLS-Canada LAV-III The Canadian Army selected a version of the Swiss MOWAG Piranha III 8 x 8 light armoured vehicle (LAV) in early 1997 to meet its future requirements. General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS)-Canada now manufactures the vehicle in Canada since MOWAG was taken over by GDLS in August 1999. Jun 09, 2004 GDLS-Canada Stryker ICV The US Army selected a version of the Light Armoured Vehicle III ( LAV-III) in late 2000 for its new Interim Brigade Combat Teams (IBCTs) following an international competition. The service has since renamed the LAV-III, based on the Swiss MOWAG Piranha, as the Stryker. Jun 09, 2004 Giat Industries VBCI The standard infantry combat vehicle (ICV) of the French Army is the Giat Industries full-tracked AMX-10P. This will eventually be replaced by the new Giat Industries wheeled VBCI (Véhicule Blindé de Combat d'Infanterie). Jun 09, 2004 IVECO/Oto Melara Centauro The Defence Vehicles Division of IVECO and Oto Melara developed the Centauro 8 x 8 vehicle to meet an Italian Army requirement for a tank destroyer with the firepower of a Leopard 1 main battle tank but with greater strategic mobility. Jun 09, 2004 IVECO LMV The Defence Vehicles Division of IVECO originally developed the Light Multirole Vehicle (LMV) as a private venture under the designation M 65EI9 WM-4 x 4. Jun 09, 2004 IVECO Puma The Defence Vehicles Division of IVECO developed the Puma family of 4 x 4 and 6 x 6 light armoured vehicles to meet the requirements of the Italian Army. Jun 09, 2004 KMW Dingo The Dingo All Protected Vehicle (APV) was originally developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) as a private venture. Jun 09, 2004 MOWAG Eagle MOWAG originally developed the Eagle reconnaissance vehicle to meet the operational requirements of the Swiss Army. Jun 09, 2004 MOWAG Piranha ACV MOWAG developed the Piranha Armoured Combat Vehicle (ACV) 10 x 10 from the earlier and highly successful Piranha 8 x 8 family of light armoured vehicles. Jun 09, 2004 MOWAG Piranha IV MOWAG has developed the Piranha IV 8 x 8 family of vehicles as a private venture and builds on the considerable experience obtained in designing, developing and producing the earlier Piranha III, which is now established as the world market leader in its class. Jun 09, 2004 NORINCO WMZ 551B China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) developed the WMZ 551 6 x 6 amphibious armoured personnel carrier (APC) in the 1980s to meet the operational requirements of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Jun 09, 2004 Nurol-Romarm RN-94 APC The RN-94 6 x 6 armoured personnel carrier (APC) was developed in the mid-1990s as a private venture between the Turkish Nurol Machinery and Industry Company and Romarm of Romania. Jun 09, 2004 O'Gara Hess M1114 The M1114, developed by the O'Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Company, is the latest Expanded Capacity Vehicle (ECV) version of the AM General High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) type M1097A2 fitted with an integrated armour system. Jun 09, 2004 Otokar Cobra Based on its extensive experience in designing, developing and producing light armoured vehicles, based on the proven Land Rover Defender 4 x 4 chassis, Otokar has developed a more capable vehicle called the Cobra. Jun 09, 2004 Panhard VBL Following extensive trials, the French Army selected the Panhard VBL (Véhicule Blindé Leger) to meet its future requirements for a light scout vehicle. The initial production vehicles were completed in 1990 and the first customer was Mexico. Jun 09, 2004 Patria AMV Patria Vehicles has recently developed the Armoured Modular Vehicle ( AMV) in close association with the Finnish Defence Force (FDF) to achieve a platform with greater mobility, payload, internal volume and protection than the current production XA-200 6 x 6 vehicles. Jun 09, 2004 Patria XA-200 Sisu (now Patria Vehicles) developed in the early 1980s the XA-180 series of 6 x 6 armoured personnel carriers (APCs), which has been under continuous production and development since its inception. Jun 09, 2004 Renault Trucks VAB The VAB (Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé) was originally developed to meet the requirements of the French Army, which has received almost 4,000 vehicles in the 4 x 4 configuration, for protected transport of assault teams. Jun 09, 2004 ST Kinetics AV-81 Terrex AIFV Singapore Technologies Kinetics has developed the AV-81 Terrex armoured infantry fighting vehicle (AIFV) as a private venture. Jun 09, 2004 Steyr-Daimler-Puch Pandur APC Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug GmbH originally developed the Pandur 6 x 6 armoured personnel carrier (APC) as a private venture.
